Description
Training Interns in Intervention & Assessment (Even if Your Site Does Things Differently)
Abstract:
Doctoral psychology internship programs are required to train and evaluate interns in the Profession Wide Competencies (PWCs) of Intervention and Assessment. Although these PWCs may seem straightforward, programs frequently encounter challenges in delivering comprehensive training across both domains at the doctoral internship level. This challenge is particularly evident at sites that specialize predominantly in either assessment or intervention services. Given the critical importance of proficiency in both Intervention and Assessment, it is imperative that programs implement effective strategies to ensure interns attain foundational competence in both areas. This training will delineate practical steps programs can adopt to facilitate the development of essential skills in Intervention and Assessment, regardless of the primary service focus of the internship site,
