Abstract
A panel of psychology training directors at the internship and postdoctoral levels will join Clover team members to discuss common training program challenges and to highlight strategies for preventing burnout. This session will include an overview of the types of challenges training directors face in their unique roles within agencies and institutions. Professional burnout and who it tends to affect most will be described; and protective factors and approaches for preventing and managing burnout will be addressed. Drawing from firsthand experience, panelists will offer insights and strategies for succeeding in the training director role, including time management techniques, training team engagement, agency and program policies and practices, steps for dealing with difficult trainees, planning for and surviving reaccreditation, and more.

- Identify challenges that are unique to the training director role.
- Describe symptoms of, and factors contributing to, burnout among mental health professionals.
- Develop a plan for preventing and overcoming burnout.
