Abstract

This panel discussion will take place between three former and current internship consortium training directors. The panel will explore the positives and challenges of an internship consortium training model. The presentation will identify the important steps programs should take when developing a consortium training program.

Dr. Jana Aupperlee is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Michigan and a Health Service Psychologist. She is the Training Co-Director of the Mid-Michigan Psychology Internship Consortium, the Director of Clinical Training for the School Psychology programs, and the Coordinator of the EdS Program in School Psychology. She advises EdS students in School Psychology and teaches a variety of school-based and clinical courses. Further, she collaborates with local school psychologists in the supervision of second year practicum students.

Dr. Stacie Freudenberg is a licensed psychologist in the state of Colorado. Previously serving as the Training Director for the Colorado Psychology Internship Program (CO-PIC), she expanded the consortium from two internship sites with two interns to a network of five sites hosting seven interns. She is dedicated to cultivating a nurturing and enriching training environment for clinical psychology interns and postdoctoral fellows. Dr. Freudenberg serves as a consultant for Clover, using her knowledge and insight to contribute to the advancement of professional training programs and uphold the highest standards in the field.

Dr. Jenna Symons is a licensed psychologist and Senior Staff Consultant with Clover Educational Consulting Group. She has been with Clover since 2017 and previously served as the training director of a large consortium across multiple state agencies. Dr. Symons has supported multiple doctoral, internship, and postdoctoral programs in various stages of development and accreditation in her role with Clover.
