Clover Educational Consulting Group is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. Clover Educational Consulting Group maintains responsibility for this program and its content

About the Training:

The most effective risk management strategy is to deliver and document good clinical services. Any purported risk management strategy that fails to promote patient well-being or fails to adhere to an overarching ethical principle is a false risk management strategy that must be questioned. This workshop reviews the basics of professional liability, ethically based risk management strategies (expanding one’s resources, empowering patients, documentation, and enhanced monitoring of one’s work), and ways that psychologists can improve the quality of their services through self-reflection, self-care, and deliberate practice. The workshop gives participants the opportunity for self-reflection.

Educational Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  • List common facts about risk management and the quality of patient care.
  • Apply ethically based risk management strategies.
  • Describe how self-care and self-reflection reduce practice risks.
